General description

Auniversal joint, (universal coupling,U-joint,Cardanjoint,Hardy-Spicerjoint, orHooke’s joint) is ajointorcouplingin a rigid rod that allows the rod to ‘bend’ in any direction, and is commonly used in shafts that transmitrotary motion.
